In Memoriam –
Zakota
2009-2019 Aug 13
My dog, Zakota died 2 days ago. He was actually my sister’s girlfriend’s dog: a Maltese Poodle. Small white dog- he was mistreated by the former owner. My sister took him, and asked if I could put him through a boot camp.
I met Zakota, crashing on my sister’s couch in an apartment, near the grad school I commuted 2 hours to, the Malti-poo, which they didn’t keep in their bed room – because he was hyper.
Zakota was with me for the 6 years I trained daily in Black Tiger, moving like the shaolin, and doing iron-hand in the front yard in the mornings. While enemies of my sister ( sounding like fiction, but actually it’s just employees of corrupt former bosses, sending out the janitor with a gun, to scare former employees into silence; happens all the time) drive by and decide not to come to the house.
I’m going to feature several sections here: 1) Discourse on aspects of the genre 2) Some personal descriptions of the artist (recent life event) – that will continue 3) continuing first look at Lore of Aethyrvast; an imaginary world where the comics will take place.
Inspired by Boris Vallejo
When I was in middle school, I really wanted to be like Bob Ross. Then in highschool, I wanted to be like Boris Vallejo; cause his paintings seemed to create and respond to the beauty of human muscles and fantasy scenes. When I drew halloween, metal covers, or horror, it was like breaking it down, to see that there was nothing really to be afraid of. And the more people seemed to react to it strongly, the more power ‘they gave it’ as a sort of totem pole, to scare away certain squeamish or idealogical people with an aversion to such content.
In general, in highschool, I liked to be outdoors, out of the classroom, away from people, engaged in some sort of physically strenuous activity; or reading books- or writing, and composing music. In general, the fearful people would seem to ‘over react‘ to the aforementioned content. So, in my twenties and thirties, when eager to make friends, and date girls, and do a good job at various employment, I only shared my ‘portraits‘ with people who I wanted to know I was an artist.
But, not everyone – cause art is time consuming, and requires a lot of focus. Acquaintances tend to ask for drawings, and not realize they are essentially asking you for a chore that will likely take 8 or more hours; more than I ever expect anyone to do upon casual request.

Erydeth – Part II of X
Erydeth: Earthlings under Observation
The council of Avatars, agree to a series of ‘tests’, and the humans are placed on quarantine worlds, overseen by enforcers of the Septendecim: The Immutables.** – where these tests are conducted – many over long periods of time ( decades, centuries)- and observations recorded; at micro and macro level.
(** Out of narcissism, or to be easily identified – or nostalgia – the Immutables, dress in costumes resembling superheroes: The costumes also give them special abilities. )
The Immutables:
The Immutables ( hybrid children of the Mophorge and humans ) are assigned to various tasks, that require ‘intervention’ of a social nature, or physical maintenance ( of a super human kind), and most importantly, to defend the planetoid from assault by nihilist void-aliens from another universe, the Umbreed.
Return to Earth
When a quarantined human is determined to be ‘constructive’, they are returned to earth, pending approval by the Septendecim, and personal vouching for by an Immutable; who is responsible if the human is later a participant in escalating destruction.
SEGUE I.
The Wikkoth:
Since Quarantine worlds aren’t all human based, though similar in design, an eventuality occurred, which the Septendecim have made efforts to resolve: The ‘hacking’ of the corridor system, by the beings called the ‘Wikkoth’. Similar in many respects, to humans, but different enough that a void entity was able to use the Wikkoth, to make a presence in the Mophorge universe, and feed on humans.
