I recorded riffs, as I made them up, over an entire day. This gives a good variation: allows for warming up, improving: and natural tempo variations ( slower, to faster; somber, to energetic)- and I can build on themes. This seems to be a pretty efficient way to record soundtracks.
1.Cart Ride to Gelfang
A march, to accompany prisoners carted. Suspenseful, dramatic, premonition. (inspired by the them in a movie adaptation of Gaston Leroux’s ” The woman with the velvet collar”.
2. Runes from Mnemoth‘s Grimoire.*
* ( background, accompanying, foreign Rune phrases, recited, to call Mnemoth, and begin creating the rift, to allow the Maelstrom, to open Aethryvast to Nyhellum ( and the hordes of Xth’raddon )
A collection of tones, instrumentation, pacing, melodies. Not necessarily complete, or perfectly arranged. But, conveys the idea. And can be used to test splice, audio with dialogue, for a test html game page. ( Inspired by Thundercats, Mum’ra’s lair theme*.)* Indirectly – I didn’t imitate it; but I notice similarities.
3. Onslaught. Ambush. Massacre.
Could improve with speed and practice. Generally punctuating the tone, of scenes of a merciless army on a rampage, slaughtering. ( Metal, style):27
4. Razing of Zendora– resilience of Nyralovea’s kin
I was composing it as I played, so areas that seem too slow, can be played at a reasonable speed later. Wanted to get the idea recorded. A scene, where the trees, and land has been devastated by war mongers, and the small creatures, and plants slowly returning to the devastated land. An expression of loss, mingled with perseverance and redemption for the survivors.
5. Entourage of the Drinna Warqueens.
There are sections of this, I can edit – the speed and attitude, of a menacing parade, of formidable enemies, accompany the entry of the Drinna Warqueens from Nyhaelos to Aethyrvast, as their forces, storm Erydeth, and the Quarantine worlds; the generals, the Eogol giants, the crepusculoids; one after another, they march by; with variations in the theme, punctuating, each one. Inspired by the Lord of the Rings ( J.R.R. Tolkien) Peter Jackson films; epic battle marches, and battlefield scenes. 2:50
6. Lament of the Bereft –
The mourning of the lost and fallen, in the wake of war.
7. Entry of Xth’raddon
My favorite of the session; it expresses the long entry, of a great behemoth, into the Aethyrvast dimension, from the Bn’Thosf Oram ‘en. Conveying an impending, and massive oppressive force, beyond comprehension. Looking forward to combining it with voice acting of the Xth’raddon done in an intense, alien, hostile, menacing booming voice. (Inspired by the themes of Robotech’s massive vessels, when facing off in space; traveling across unfathomable distances in behemoth ships).
8. Dakoza’s Elegy/ Approach of the Black Spider Nayka
3 tracks, sounds more practiced. I like the sounds that seem to describe spider legs crawling, in the 2nd half of the piece. ( reminiscent of the Diablo 3 level)
9. GorMax -1
10. GorMax -2000
New improved, super efficient. Enhanced weapons array, capable of pin point accuracy, with multiple targets.
11. Dreadnought Pursuer
Multiple tracks. Encroaching pursuers, indefatigable hostile adversaries, chasing through dimensions beyond and across Aethryvast; the Dreadnought, carrying Drinna warriors.
