4. Redrawing some of the figures from 3. as characters from scripts – ( noticed the neck was longer then normal on the left one ( from drawing the large 19 x 24″ paper on a desk*- so, then I used the easel to work on 1 & 2)

*The distance form the bottom to the top of the page, is viewed in perspective and then while drawing it further away, things get warped, in a way that drawing on the easel doesn’t (3. and 4 . were drawn on a flat desk, until I noticed – then I started drawing on the easel again: for 1. & 2. **

** I didn’t have the easel with me for the 2 months on the road trip, and had been primarily sorting documents, to compile, into scripts; which in the past month, I have sent to 9 different actresses. ( writing over 100 pages)

1.A I made this combo of a Dave Hoover face expression study I really liked , from his series ( alley) posted on his website. I realized, if I studied female pelvises, feet, hands, and more anatomy, supporting characters, backgrounds, that this could be a special image.

Using MS Paint to place an alternate facial expression ( from another original drawing I created), to create an image, to later redraw. One aspect, I have seen in drawings, is the proportions being off, and the placement not along a vector from the origin. Using MS paint to place the object in a rotation, and vector, aid in creating an image that looks of higher quality. ( in my opinion)

These generally take a week each, to fully render. Getting close to having all the related studies. Remaining are: some supporting cast. and background, foreground details. I want to pencil detail them thoroughly, before inking.

Once I have thoroughly studied items for aspects of the background – like banner logo, castle, costumes, supporting cast, expression, features; then I don’t mind ‘completing’ images at 19 x 24″ and detailing – inking and coloring.

I simply don’t want to spend 3 weeks on one piece, and have the end result, be less than the most I could think of. With a little more effort, I can have something that has more detail and meaning – and then I can feature those elements in more images. The difference between 40 disparate images: or illustrations from a comicbook world; the latter has been my goal.
