What’s to Come
Open world is nearing visible fruition. I have planned a way to present it, to get the links operable, – with the understanding, that I can ‘insert’ higher quality images later on. ( rather than having the whole project remain intangible until all the pieces are assembled)

*{ I generally don’t like posting lengthy textual plans, but- this is a flow chart; and it should give an idea of what to expect; more quickly, than the time it would take to draw it}

** Lore is subject to change.
Got some Templates I’m looking forward to applying to Fan-art and Original characters. A great Coming Soon post, and In the Works post, coming up in a couple weeks. And logo concepts in development.
Process: Template to Character and Applications
Template to Character: 1. Composition book (*COMP) rough concept art(freehand ink) 2. Bristol board ( erase, corrected) concept art 3. template studies. 4. Apply template to #1. then #2. When I have one that is a completed standalone piece, I can ink it: then digitally color it ( as mapped out in *COMP).
The Gallery of Original characters and Fan -art characters, – I then apply to scenes ( which I create by the same method above)
Applications include: Paintings ( watercolor, acrylic). Animations, in clip studio, and Video games ( in Click Team Fusion, – 3-d Game Guru; Unity, Unreal Engine, ect.* pending updates, new software, engines, hardware ect)
Commissions
I spend studio time as constructively as possible – in general. All commissions are special offers ( I don’t advertise or want to do regular commissions). My goal is to establish a body of original work.
Currently, in Early Access, I am disseminating scans of 20 year old work, and recent work in progress. The bulk of my Studio Time is currently spent making Templates: based on photos or advanced illustrations ( forshortening, perspective, style); that I can redraw with characters inserted. That can be in Open World – and eventually Animations, Video games.
If a commission involves multiple requests that I have considered, the longer it takes, the more consideration I am giving it – I obviously could whip out fast work; but my goal, is the highest quality I can create. Thus, more time: finding references, designing templates, and applying variations, until I come up with a composition, that represents the aforementioned.
These Special Commissions are part of a Grand opening year – and earned by Regular uninterrupted subscriptions: whose generosity and interest in Lurid Max Pre-Code Renaissance is sincerely appreciated; and if done properly, can be high profile ads, to sit in galleries for years to come.
How long till a commission is done? It take’s as long as it takes. In the immediate present, waiting can be undesirable; – but the final product, if done with more time, is better.
Quality = Time
More quality = more time on task ( in my opinion). Your Kind Patronage will be rewarded, in time. Thanks for your patience, and continued sponsorship!
Native American Massacres
I think, when Native American Indians are described as being slaughtered in the hundreds, it has little meaning. When the protagonists are American settlers, and their language, culture and concerns are more relatable than the Indians, the viewer might listen to that phrase, and have it go out the other ear. They are more likely to feel more strongly about the depiction of the Alamo, because of the time taken to develop and portray Davy Crockettt, Daniel Boone. If you like Davy Crockett’s character – appreciate his accomplishments, or know of his Legend, then when he is slain, it is perceived as an equally monumental loss. Something special, or that you cared about- slain.
With the Indians, they are portrayed as primitive, and pests; or like homeless drifters. Mostly nameless – who knows what they are doing, or their aspirations, or the motivations in their actions. They are presented as ignorant, stubborn, superstitious, and inferior. Almost, as though, the conflict between the Americans and the Indians, could have been prevented if they weren’t so ignorant, stubborn, and superstitious. As though, the Indians were at fault, and therefore, the slaughter of their people was collateral damage from a war they were responsible for; and that the attacks they made on the white people, are adequate justification for the attacks on their people.
