1.A Gimp colored, piece – 14 x 17 – based on a Rip Hunter Time Master cover. 2. Gimp colored – the images were from 14 x 17 pieces, inked with microns, that were photographed, then made b/w by using GIMP ( some artifacts – pixelation) 3. A scan of a 14 x 17 ” piece, to color in Clip Studio Paint ; later. ( currently colored in GIMP; from a photo, that became pixelated with GIMP; losing some detail; and only colored by bucket fill)
Inked Template
19 x 24 Bristol board; (Rotring) Rapidographs .25, .35, .5. This is the completed inked figure, of a template – I began, specifically for the 1st commission I began for a subscriber. The face was from a fumetti panel reference ( and can be given variant faces and expressions); chosen for it’s resemblance to anime – for a commission of Reith from Magna Carta. The inking style was inspired by Todd Macfarlane, Mike Deodato Jr. and Scott Williams. The application of this template , would be to have access to details throughout the anatomy, and create variations that emphasize various details. The hair was referenced by photos of hair models.
The next step, is to apply the template, to variations: nude, less detail ink; various costumes, and add backgrounds, logos, supplemental figures; and digital color; that relates to an original story.
