Acquired more references -from paid video clip sites* – for some videos that have good representation of various, s/fx, innovations for lurid pre code horror scenes. Typed a story idea**. I sorted from thousands of reference images I saved.*** That I look forward to drawing from this week!

*( been around for several years; that I didn’t want to wait till they were not available)

**( developing the plot of a comic in progress; for more scenes – plan to get some more concepts rough drafted – and type some hand written plots from composition books.

***from ebay photos, of pre code & GGA comics and and art, and used clip studio to rotate, and organized by pose, expression.

After reading about a person hosting a website, that lost their job, due to discovery of his website, I wrote a 6 page essay* – on the topic of what differentiates illegal, and grievous content, and between types of ‘arthouse/grindhouse’ content like featured here, which is not malevolent- and 100% legal****

**** (Luridmax has been approved as honorable employ by two senators, IRS, and related staff; 2 attorneys. In the essay I describe precisely why they are different: and what LuridMax stands for: what is the Pre-Code difference.

*[ which I** might feature as an ongoing discourse in the subsequent weekly word]

** ( I had just finished mowing the lawn, for 2 and a half hours, and typed while I cooled down). Then opened and photographed the remaining packages, to free up studio space*** – scanning some. ]

*** I only have one more package of comics enroute, so the busy phase, of juggling comic inventory tasks, and studio art, is a relief to be complete. Now I have references for every conceivable aspect of the 5 comics brands. I look forward to studying from them!

Updated. Fri July 10 12:25 am –

Yesterday, I looked through galleries, you tube, ect, for reference material. Joined a pivix fan box, to see an artist’s work ; professional looking; and ordered a photo set from a model/magician ( prop – with semi nude models), for potential references.

I have an idea of what most artists seem to not draw effectively – and saw some effective techniques worth studying. Now that my studio is set up for easily accessing the stacks of 19 x 24″ , templates – I have been redrawing pieces. The process, is to redraw characters, with a variety of figures I’ve already studied. [ ie, above, I started the Shardanna character as 11 x 14″ – How to draw Dc. Then redrew it as 11 x 17″ with longer proportions. I have alot of templates I made for female character designs; I want to draw my original characters onto the physiques ( make nude, variations; and perhaps other variations; Umbreed; Dulagchan; video game scenes; expressions. – eventually, when I start using the Clip studio software, and I become familiar with it; I can cut and paste variations of faces, or other parts, onto a piece, and create many variations, much more quickly. *

*I’ve done that with MS paint, – I am not doing it yet, because I want to give the characters, a chance to be drawn multiple times, and see what develops. Of all the variations, I can find aspects, that look best. When I use a version, for a sequence, or animation for the visual novel ( or a CLIP studio animation); then I can use the cut paste; and layer it over a background.

I got alot more studio work done today – ( 9 pieces started). Tales of Voodoo Vol 2 #4* arrived yesterday. I have about 10 packages waiting to open**.

*( VF; a higher quality copy; the 2nd copy I have now, of a rare lurid pre-code horror cover)

**But I want to see if I can get some character designs down ( first draft, ideas), and redraw; and progress toward inked, and colored pieces.

I will try to post something to subscribe star – after I get something completed ( inked, colored).

Then open packages, photo; and type ( eventually submitting a script to the top actress).

The order in progress, of scripts Thermidor I + II; took the first actress over 4 weeks to complete. So the current actress, has a better mic, and is a more experienced voice over actress, with a great range of acting, and expression; I’ll inquire her ETA, if it hasn’t arrived in 5 weeks.

(It’s been 3 weeks so far; she checks for any messages from me – the service shows when she last looked at my order page for messages; but she hasn’t communicated to me yet; the order is in progress. In my experience, the actresses make one perfunctory communication, from stock business phrases, then after a few days or weeks, it shows up completed. I am trying to avoid putting any kind of pressure on her – as ‘rushing creativity’ always results in hasty work, sometimes, better than nothing for an inordinately long time – but within normal expectations, I don’t want her to be stressed out, and do lower quality work, if possible).

I have another actress I am planning to hire for a script, in progress, whenever I finish the story, and editing ; I have been looking forward to this actress; but sometimes she is out of office, and often has 6 orders in the queue ( very popular, and talented; she’s also a visual artist). I want to have her read lines for Zaydimar, as a test run( when I finish editing the 76 pages I have) – and play a role for the Gor-max story; which needs to be embellished into dialogue.

* if it doesn’t rain all day tomorrow – I should be able to take photos of the 14 x 17″, and 19 x 24″.

( I am trying to put the time in to getting some pencillings ready for inking, and coloring: any 19 x 24″ of 14 x 17″ that is pencilled enough, to ink; and gets inked- and worth coloring; will be connected. )

Thanks!

Have a Great week!
