I had a script idea for 3 different issues of a ‘pre-code horror’ comic. I drew some rough layouts. I looked through reference material, and found alot of good poses, expressions to match the panels. Several packages arrived. Will try to work on art first for this week, then prepare images. Found really good reference material, I look forward to sorting and drawing.

( perhaps 1 of each: 6th scale, Video game, video, audio per month; that shouldn’t take exorbitant time from the studio creation process.)
Studio Work:
Since I scripted and cast voice actresses for Zaydimar – and a series of trailer descriptions ( Logline II) with broad cast rights; I thoroughly searched for references ( Eric Stanton) and harem costumes; middle eastern backgrounds, and costumes for supporting cast; and looked into the history of the Arabian nights, Scheherazade story. I found the original historical account, and came up with variations based on the source.*
*Multiple game design, concept, scripts; that I would like to edit and embellish, and begin work on.
I would like to make a visceral, and adult, lurid, depiction of the literal story, featuring each harem girl mentioned, in the 1,001 nights.
The main aspect is the art quality. Another, is the title, brand, story – since I have voice actresses involved, who can easily search the terms. I prefer freedom from being concerned about any actresses sensibilities, limiting by range of variations. Thus, the importance of variations of presentation – despite being based on the same premise.
I expect to get back into uninterrupted studio drawing soon.
The New Comic Book Schedule:
3 weeks of the Studio Schedule, made some progress into the embellishing*.
I have a much more energetic lifestyle, now that I use the easel outdoors ( when drawing without computer screen references), and streamlining the Weekly posting, when time could be better spent on drawing.
Toward the end of this month, I participated in some family events – refreshing, and will ultimately benefit the quality of the upcoming comic work.
* [ some inks, detailing pencils on original Apocrypha, prismacolor for a logo- with some skin tones, mech pencil detail on a Witchfynder logo ( nearly complete), 4 19 x 17″ WIP). Acquired some key ( high value, pre-code) reference material, I had been watching, that had long been unobtainable].
Covid-19 Government Stimulus/ Self-Employed UI stipend
I anticipate, in a month, or so, I should have an idea how much to expect from the government stipend* for the ‘national emergency’.
*The process, is time-consuming; the website was admittedly designed purposely to frustrate the users. Citizens in my state have sued over the malfunctioning system. Despite submitting a paper application, as advised, in March 27. The current updated, recommendation, was that the fastest way, would be to reapply online.
Currently, the 72 hours I was supposed to check back in, my application is still under review*.
*( it probably , also confounds their ‘wage’ reporting, discovery of earnings and hours worked, structure, that, as a full time artist. My idea of ‘work’, is many hours of concentrated tasks, that I don’t get paid for, until I place a product for others to ‘pay for’. One restriction of the old UI system, is that the applicant can’t be working full time, or make more than $275 a week.
They changed the system*, to allow for gig, freelance, and self -employed workers.
* Not sure how much hassle, reapplications, and/or appeals, it might take. But, I will give due diligence, to the process.
The funds acquired, will enable great reference material, and wider voice over actress casting potential and broadcast rights*.
& as well as audio recording equipment, DAW software, and additional website features, domains ect.
I. Upcoming Titles/Campaigns Comics
My current overall goal, is to complete Title/Brand distinguishing art, at an embellished level, to enable running galleries for each main title; with character design illustrations, synopsis, ( Patreon/ Subscribestar payout links), a series of promo illustrations, for each; with suspense images, that new subscribers can pay to see the rest of the sequence/ and variations. A brand that is advertisable on Instagram. And quality new promo material, to update Lurid Max, and a curriculum of posts, to set up for scheduled auto post on Lurid Max Deviant art, and the Pre-Code Horror Group
( I started in Nov 2019 – thanks for your encouraging participation? ).
II. Establishing the Original work
A fully colored illustrated comic, for each title – and Clandestine Lurid Max version s( just for the current subscribers); and new Lurid Max comic, for new members, and social media. With completed comics, I plan to launch the Kickstarter I began setting up – and determine what voice overs would benefit it ( and acquire broadcast rights).
I am looking forward to having a handful of comics to work on, with established original characters; to run campaigns on IG, DA, at mainstream, NSFW, and Lurid Max; Kickstarter, You tube trailers.
III. Video Game:
When the main elements described above, are complete, it will be straightforward to make video games on Renpy. And it will maximize my opportunity to elicit and reach a larger contributing audience; which will make every aspect of the processes in development, run smoothly and in a more timely fashion.

Crime SuspenStories #22 CGC 6.0 Live Heritage Auction
Thurs April 30 – (10:43pm) Today I participated in a Heritage Live Auction – I watched someone win Crime Suspenstories #22 , 6.0 CGC for $6000
( a bid by phone – one increment from the internet bidding close).
Yesterday I Reapplied for my state’s UI stipend for self-employed, during the corona virus.
I found 5 scarce pre-code comics, at the best values on the market. A package was delivered today. ( with 5 high value pre-code comics). Haunt of Fear #19 required a signature, and should be redelivered soon.
Drew some character designs.
I gathered alot of expression and pose references from Pre-Code comic, close up images. ( I spent yesterday, learning how to sing/play several songs over the phone for my 90 year old grandma’s birthday: they are quarantined in the nursing home, and stay in their rooms; no visiting family this year. She really enjoyed it.)
Tomorrow I could post some Apocrypha.
I would like to prepare some new drawings – and focus on studio work;
I have alot of ideas, after looking through tens of thousands of comic covers/panels today.
Eventually, I want to run Conan exiles again, with different physics settings, and make more videos.
My goal is to be informed about Pre- Code Horror, and be in a strong position, as I present art as tributes to the classic covers – reimaginings.
( with thorough research of the covers and panels, of legendary artists from that time) and apply certain qualities, to my new original comics.
Alternating studio time between, studies, redrawings, and freehand drawing; some inking coloring and painting. I want to have supporting cast, costumes, backgrounds, and ideal templates, before painting. I expect the paintings to be impressive ( and a series of paintings; can enable new subscribers). When I make a new update, I may streamline this post and move this text to a Word page.
Honoring Legends
A creator like dolcett, with a body of work, such as his, may have created many other mainstream pieces, that others wouldn’t associate with him. If he created fresh content based on current events, the story and dialogue might be expected to have brilliance, and an overall poignant message. But his act, is not one that can be followed by merely imitating the basic appearance, and themes. Just like a lay person, can paraphrase a novel, and not expect it to be an equal work.

Adaptations
Currently, I am outlining 5 titles, that cross over. So alot of the work, is concept rough layout – if I stopped to embellish everything as I went along, I wouldn’t be able to plot out everything at the size I am aspiring for. Though, now, I do want to devote some more time to embellish some pieces, that I have adequately studied the aspects of the poses, for. So I look forward to getting some complete images. )
Currently my goals include doing more prismacolor with inked outline, and aiming for larger flesh tone sections, and main nude figures. An aspect of coloring a piece in this way, is that the gray tones I usually draw on for a b/w are omitted. With a faint outline, using a pencil that is less dark ( ie H pencil), I use the color pencils, to create the tones. This process takes less time for me, than using CSP digital to color layers ( as yet). I want to approach coloring, at present, by starting with what I am most familiar. So I can appreciate the software, and apply it to where it saves time. *
