Why Vintage Comics?
Vintage comicbooks ( 1st appearances, key artists, covers and the general history) are a supplemental tool. Fan art is popular and done by many. Simply drawing the latest iteration, brings minimal to the over saturated category. Knowing more about the characters, before depicting them, allows for something less common.
Being familiar with where they started, how they looked originally, and across different eras – helps make the task of depicting these beloved, larger than life icons, more approachable. When faced with passionate, opinionated fan criticism – one need not rely on biased viewer response. With research – vintage comics, digital reading versions, redrawn covers – an artist can educate themselves.
This can serve to inform artwork for presenting to editors. It can also be a source of views generated, since a piece with the name of a popular character will show up in more searches. 1st appearances and 1st in new titles are high value comics and collector’s items. A genre of original art is based on it. Selling the original comics, can be part of an ebay store, also offering prints of original fan-art, and original comic book art – with collectors finding the store in searches for the popular comicbooks and characters.
Coming up Next Month:
Begin getting first glimpses of the new comicbook world! Characters, title – 18 pages of frame by frame script have been created! I will keep adding templates, for the Commissioner members. And The Apocrypha. I saved the best for last.
After The Apocrypha, is all posted, I can revisit some pieces, and ‘finish’ them in professional fashion; and create finished pieces out of more recent tonal drawings and apply templates to scenes with the elements of the new comicbook world.
Eventually, The Apocrypha will be a digital book. Then there will be new comics, – pages and covers, variants released to subscribers. Subscribers will not pay for books released during their subscription – that’s what the subscription is for. Bonus pages, layouts, and variant covers, will be made available exclusively to members.
When the comicbook world is clearly defined – by the first comicbooks – Open World will feature this world. And be available as Visual NovelsĀ . I am seriously looking forward to creating the soundtrack. Subscribers will have access to locations, actions, character variations, and quests that won’t be featured in the official versions offered in the store.
I sincerely appreciate your interest and kind contributions.
Have a great week!
