(10:55pm) – Added Vintage 3rd Mar (including a photo from new camera, of “Fantastic Adventures” (Medusa was a Lady) , cover, that recently arrived ( and unboxed today). And Kristy Swanson (Playboy cover) – potential reference for “Rylanda”. Wrote rough of 2nd script for submitting to film producer*. And writing to the “Story Telling” section ( below: scroll to heading: “Story Telling”)

Mar 25 2020 – I have the box of 34 Eerie publications magazines now! I plan to write a 2nd script for the film producer ( to see what comes of it – for their April 8 th shoot*). [I spent all day writing this – and My thoughts on Covid-19. ]

*Since Corona virus – Sars; has changed how people interact in society; It will likely be 3 months or more, before the opportunity returns. I am glad to see members tuning in – I hope you are well, and stay healthy. ( if you recall the 2003 version, ran it’s course in a year)

My recent social media experience, has given me a sense of how I can promote Zaydimar, for a mainstream audience*. My plan for next month, is to embellish some pieces, ( ink/color).

Use my camera to photograph 6th scale models, for drawing reference, and as photo sequences ( possibly learn to make stop motion films). Splice audio, and put it together in Renpy. Write more scripts, and get them voice-acted. Improve audio, soundtrack, sound effects.

* ( with hints of pre code horror, tastefully, intermittent, ) and appeal to women and men, girls and boys, as a raw, edgy Pg-13.

Mar 23 2020 – Added 16 page Script to Script/Story Queue, and 6 page submission to a producer; that hires nude models, and may shoot the script, without charging me, if i allow them the rights. I want to see how they interpret it. I will get a free copy if they use it – and I can make photo reference stills, to sketch. If they do well, I may hire them next year to act out scenes featuring characters and costumes ( or when the budget allows).

Evening: I recorded a fourth soundtrack.

Afternoon:  I completed a 3 day auction, getting a sizeable collection of Eerie publications Witches’ Tales, Voodoo Tales, Horror Tales and Terror Tales. *

* These are not always available, the main online comicshops don’t have many issues, and the conditions are usually low grade.  When a collection like this goes up, with few watching, and prices that are 3/4’s lower than the market,  its an opportunity worth taking – even if it means, paying up front, going over budget, and having to make up for it later. 

Unlike most items, purchased as needed – these rare pre-code horror vintage issues, are scarce, and often unavailable entirely.  But when someone sells a collection, suddenly, there are dozens, available, for a limited time, at a fraction of the cost to get them individually, in lower condition, from traditional sellers. 

  I typically, don’t like being temporarily overbudget,  but I have seen these eerie publications, come and go, for years, and realize they are a significant representation of lurid comic/magazine art, which are a bridge to modern horror comics, and not available in quantity or quality very often.    

Morning: Bobby Benson’s B-Bar-B Rider’s #14 delivered!   Rare.  This comic was notorious, for it’s pre code horror content, and frequently cited –  as far back as when I first looked through an Overstreet Price Guide**,   I look forward to photographing the inside with my new camera;  and then scanning the cover.     One of the benefits of getting the original, is that I can work on it longer, and experience part of history in a way, that is authentic.   It was a relatively  innocent time, and the presentation of the pre code horror content was straightforward, without the reaction to social politics inherent in current  pieces.  

Camera: 6th Scale: Photos

Camera/ 6th scale. I have been regularly setting up the foundation of the photo shoot location, and I have familiarity now with the basic functions of my Canon Rebel Ti 7 ( DSLR) 24 MP. The resolution is so much better, and worthy of the 6th scale models ( and many costumes and props). I have DIY props, and plans for more advanced props. On the list for 6th scale photo shoots, I plan to feature ( probably in this order*):

[Comes with operable guillotine: two colors. I have 5. And the model, with detachable head/limbs.]

[ Really impressive design. This was the inspiration for Wynpera’s design, in 2014. Every angle of this, is worth study drawing; for proportions of physique, and natural light.]

I have already extensively posed, and photographed the posable 6th scale, and the 6 additional figures ( 2 Jiao dolls, 4 Tb league – fit, muscular , medium and large breast: tan, pale, black),… but with the 12 MP camera. Great material, but the focus, and resolution limitations, don’t always do the models justice.

Script Queue: Task Priority

Between me and getting back into full studio immersion ( drawing my ideas, most of the day, every day; till the work is top quality) – I am taking advantage of a content (film) producer ( models) script submission opportunity – if they produce my script, I get a free copy of the film. ( ie the first one – posted in previous update). The photo shoot is scheduled for April 8. I can generally write and submit within 1 – 2 days. Stated on the producer’s website, they aren’t planning to have any more custom shoots for the foreseeable future.

For The 3rd Weekly pack: I have a design of a logo for ‘Witchfynder’, some character designs.

Honoring Legends

That is the goal of the Thermidorseries I have begun: The first two scripts I have put out, are here: ( the second is due for delivery by Feb 27 2020 by the same girl who narrated the first) .

Obviously censorship plays a part , in sanitizing young people’s impressions of history; Marie Antoinette, Anne Boleyn, stand out, because there is more written about them, and they become archetypes of the opposite sex – to the novice to history, with a first glance at a sanitized history book, it might seem they were the only women who faced brutal deaths, by the laws of their time. But, that isn’t true. They are just the highest profile, and most socially acceptable to present in texts and media.

Story Telling

Mar 26 2020 – Where I would like to go, with Lurid Max, ( on DA Core) is probably something like EC comics. That would be a renaissance. And use some reoccurring characters from the Apocrypha ( relying on story presentation, rather than brand names, character names). When I catch up the website ( get ahead), and complete many longstanding references, work related to requests, and IP ( logos, backgrounds, characters) to supplement all the voice acted work, that I have*: It would be prudent to clean up the gallery, so that only the best pieces are featured; I noticed in a search, a month ago, on DA, ( I was looking for a yacermino piece), I saw alot of the cropped images I posted in my weekly advertising on DA; really unembellished, and comparatively unremarkable pieces. I suppose DA Core, ramped up the occurrences of my pieces showing up in searches. I prioritize the subscribers content first, because your contributions enable me to develop the content. When time spent upkeeping DA, isn’t taking away from subscriber content, it is definitely on my to-do list. If there were 6 more waking hours in a day,…

*so I can send it to actress, to give them a visual, and for the promotion of Zaydimar, Witchfynder, Umbreed, and Congo Jongo.

Given the current events, I’d like to get Umbreed logos embellished, and explore the plague storyline (I had written in 2014, and developed into an epic). Might capture the interest of more potential subscribers, and increase funding for the voice actresses.

**Which I really like, because I have some training in musical instruments and vocals. I don’t plan to hire any of the background music artist I’ve seen. I’ve trained in classical music for decades, and recorded, composed, written songs for 2 decades, I want to make my own original soundtrack – even though I appreciate the creative work of other musicians. Will be really fun, over the year, when I find voice actresses, to sing the songs I compose specifically for Erydeth, Ravilyon, ect,… and the Characters.

Adaptations

Converse, point: if you take away the gore and nsfw content from most amatuer guro, you have nothing left. Take it away from dolcett, and you have a rich, swingers, raffle for barbecue, with occasional reuse of names; the story, essentially a remake of a short horror story, “The lottery” with variations on the violence and sex. But the characters, are generally representative, horny house wives, and decadent amoral business men, who cheat on their wives. By itself, the bare bones of the story is dystopian, consumer excess of the 80’s, at best a gory hyperbole for modern capitalist gluttony. Approachable, relateble, easy to understand, and seems to have a cult following.
